Ann Durden Donovan, following in her family's footsteps (her family started Tucker’s Psychiatric in 1912) has been a psychotherapist for more than 20 years. As a Licensed Professional Counselor she began her counseling career in prisons.
A few years later, a private practice called specializing in teens and adults who engage in self-destructive behaviors such as self-harm, isolation, and toxic relationships. Her treatment approach incorporates CBT, psychotherapy, goal-oriented and solution-focused therapies, and family systems. Ann has been extensively trained in Foundational DBT.

Ann’s desire for each client, to be their authentic self where the heart and head harmoniously co-exist, is the foundation of her therapeutic practice.
She is a graduate of the MCV/VCU Rehabilitation Counseling program. Number one in her class she was awarded the prestigious Stalnaker-Wright Award for Achievement in Counseling, inducted in the Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society for Excellence in Professional Counseling, and is a Ph.D. candidate.
